Some rare Clivia Lily hybrids produce variegated leaves with prominent white (sometimes yellow) stripes that run parallel up and down the leaves from one end to the other. The striping is among the most spectacular that can be seen in the flowering kingdom, and the variegation, itself, is as attractive as the flowers themselves, and gets the gardeners attention, during the 10 months that the Clivia Lily is not flowering. Because of the variegation this plant needs more shade than the non-variegated lily.
